Motorola Droid X is on the path of Milestone and will prove difficult to root as the phone uses the same hard to crack Bootloader Encryption which Motorola Milestone has. The Milestone is still a challenge to coders as no one has yet been successful in cracking the locked Bootloader without losing functionality.
Now without rooting forget overclocking and installing Android updates even before Google’s official launch. If you are a normal user then Droid X is the best Android phone you can have but not for those who are interested in doing things as they want.
The experts at XDA are warning users about this locked bootloader on the Droid X as the possibility of finding any exploit in near future is little and currently not in sight. The hacking community will surely take this as a challenge and hopefully come with a breakthrough defeating Motorola in its attempt to develop unbreakable bootloader.
